Sticks- by George Saunders

When Kimmie was screaming
on Christmas Eve just because a piece of apple, I thought he was simply a crazy
father. But looking at the cross-shaped stick I could find some unusual things.
There were several scenes, starting with simply a sports event related to the
Golden Ball, dressing and putting on makeup as if he were dealing with his wife
after her death, hanging a letter, and tying the words love and forgive. When
celebrating sports events or holidays, I thought it was just for fun, but I
thought that the stick represented father's life when he treated stick as his
wife, when he wrote letters or hung words. I also thought that the scene where
a young couple came in and the stick was thrown away also meant the end of
father's.
This was
the shortest story I have read, but I think it contains deep meanings and
metaphors so that it can make us feel and think about something regardless of its
length.(185 words)
