A Sound of Thunder, By Ray Bradbury (1952)

I think It's my first time seeing a work about time traveling since the movie 'terminator'. Plus, I was interested in the fact that it also included elements such as Jurassic Park. The most memorable thing for me was the one about Eckels, butterfly effect and the time safari incorporation. Eckels was a lot different from the hero I learned in hero's journey. It seemed like he is a protagonist but a troller. It was also fun to see him confident before hunting and him being embarrassed and afraid when he saw the dinosaur. However, If you think about all those things carefully, it seems like the reason for all of this is time corporation. On the outside, they talk about all kinds of precautions and tell hunters to be careful but eventually, they are taking all those things to make money. This story is enjoyable and also have many factors to think about but the reason why the rating is 8.5 may have been because many important events happened too suddenly, and as I recently became interested in physics, I felt a little disappointing that the physical concept they used was too simplified.(194 words)

 In So far, we have learned about James Joyce through ‘the Sisters’, ‘Arabi’ and ‘Eveline’. When I read these short stories in order, the first thing I thought about was that the characters that make up these stories are slowly growing. There was a little boy and a boy who grew up little more and fell in love with the girl next door and a lady with the sailor. In this context, if I read more stories in the future, I expect that character in the story will grow and finally deal with the death of one person. In addition, reading James Joyce's stories, I began to think that all the dramatic and exaggerated stories are not shown in James Joyce’s stories and rather it seemed to deal with something more realistic and this made me to understand stories easier. Of course, the background itself is not the same, but there are less dramatic parts, so I was able to smoothly continue reading it from the middle of the story. Gooseberries-By Anton Checkhov(1898) Rating:6/10     After reading this, the first thing that came to mind was about Ivan and Nikolai. First of all, thinking about Nikolai, Nikolai married his rich wife for money, and eventually succeeded in buying land and planting gooseberries in the countryside. However, Ivan thinks he is deceiving himself that he is arrogant and happy. However, from Nicolai's point of view, he achieved ownership of private land in the countryside like his childhood dream and was satisfied with eating gooseberries planted himself.   The Semplica-Girl Diaries- by George Saunders Rating:7/10   First of all, it was written in the form of a diary, so it felt very unique from the perspective of reading it. I think I got to think about wealth. It was a real shock to be a Semplica Girl. In fact, I couldn't believe that people in areas like Laos were acting as living dolls to make money, but I couldn't believe the scene where they said it wasn't sad because they made money and gave their families a better life. However, at the same time, I felt that SG was recognized as a symbol of wealth. Also, I thought that it didn’t make sense to feel liberated by winning the lottery,by taking away the freedom of Semplica Girl. It may be a little out of the blue, but Kyle came to mind in Victory Lap. It's not a good thing to see, but anyway, I thought that the situation that provided SG with a job was similar to Kyle's situation, which saved Alison from the kidnapper but broke the kidnapper's head.
